Vietnam NASC Passes $88.6M from Foreign Funds for Grassroots Health System

The Vietnamese National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) has agreed with the government about the use of VND2.05 trillion ($88.6 million) from the 2021-2025 public investment plan’s foreign capital resources for developing the grassroots health system, local media reported.

The NASC made the approval at the 17th working session in Hanoi on November 28.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue asked agencies to use the resources for the right purposes.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that the allocation of resources for the grassroots health system also contributes to the government’s 2021-2025 new rural development program.

Speaking of the last concessional loan offered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to Vietnam valued at $88.6 million, Minister Dung urged agencies to quickly complete procedures to withdraw the capital to the state budget ahead of the deadline (March 31, 2023) for the implementation of the rural development program.
