Hospitals in Vietnam Hanoi Launch Pilot Neonatal Network for First Time

Nine hospitals in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi have recently linked together to launch a pilot neonatal network, in order to provide maternity services, neonatal care, and intensive care services to premature babies and newborns with congenital pathology, local media reported. The launching ceremony was held by Hanoi Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital, in collaboration with the UK-registered charity Newborns Vietnam, on October 15. The event was attended by UK Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward and leaders of the municipal Department of Health. The pilot neonatal network will be developed under the direction of the municipal Department of Health, with the support from experts of Newborns Vietnam. The neonatal network was earlier pioneered in the UK in 2003, then in Australia and many other countries. (Bao Chinh Phu, Bao Van Hoa, Lao Dong, Nhan Dan)
