Vietnam’s southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City will set up three out-of-hospital emergency centers and two airway and waterway emergency stations by 2030, according to the project for developing the out-of-hospital emergency system from now until 2030 and beyond announced on March 27 by the municipal Department of Health.
Under the project, the three out-of-hospital emergency centers are (i) 115 Emergency Center in Tan Kien cluster, covering 10,700 square meters, located in the specialized healthcare cluster of Tan Kien, serving as the command center for the out-of-hospital emergency system, (ii) 115 Emergency Center in Central cluster located in District 10, responsible for out-of-hospital emergency services in the city center area, and (iii) 115 Emergency Center in Thu Duc cluster, situated on a 29,000 square-meter land area in Thanh My Loi Ward, Thu Duc City, responsible for receiving calls and coordinating peripheral emergency services in Thu Duc City.
The two emergency stations will be established, in which the first is the 115 airway station, with close cooperation between the city's healthcare sector and the Ministry of National Defense’s Military Hospital 175 and the second is the 115 waterway station, located within the premises of Can Gio District Health Center, responsible for peripheral emergency services in Can Gio District and developing the waterway emergency model.
