The British Embassy in Hanoi and The British Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City are parts of a world-wide network of 230 Posts, representing British political, economic, Visa and Consular interests overseas. We are currently looking to recruit 2 temporary UKTI Assistants to join our dynamic team in UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.
UKTI is the government organisation that helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy and assists overseas companies to bring their high-quality investment to the UK.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To support the team in organising its major trade event for the year, British Week, running from 29 September – 05 October. Tasks will include liaising with hosts and partners for the event, sponsors and participants, as well as other administrative and logistical arrangements.
• Assist with the administrative and logistical arrangements for visits to Vietnam of Senior UK political/official figures and business delegations;
• Support in organising and hosting official events and other receptions held at the consulate;
• Assist the team in meetings and visits to external contacts by taking notes and reporting on the outcome of the meetings;
• Liaise with official/business contacts and customers in the UK, e.g. responding to routine enquiries, requesting further information or chasing up replies;
• Carry out a range of delegated tasks, such as data entry, collating statistics, conducting research and contributing to reports and briefings compiled by the team;
• Perform other ad hoc administrative support duties.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the following essential attributes:
• An enthusiastic team player with personal drive and excellent customer service;
• High detail-orientation and organisational skills;
• Good command of spoken and written English; very good communication and interpersonal skills;
• High proficiency in MS Office applications.
Other related internship experience and knowledge about the UK will also be desirable.
