The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) is a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies; it is part of a worldwide network of 189 National Societies. The purpose of the Swiss Red Cross activities is to protect the lives, health and dignity of human beings worldwide, the Swiss Red Cross is active in a large number of humanitarian programmes.
The Swiss Red Cross has worked in Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnamese Red Cross particularly in the sectors of health, rural development, disaster mitigation/preparedness, and encouraging programs to prevent and alleviate human suffering.
The Swiss Red Cross has an office in Hanoi in charge of overseeing and managing the day to day operation of SRC programmes in Vietnam as well as coordination with the Vietnamese Red Cross, the wider Red Cross Movement in Vietnam, and other DRR stakeholders.
On September 2012 the Swiss Red Cross commenced a program in partnership with the Vietnamese Red Cross to deliver Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) services in seven vulnerable communes in the Ca Mau Province. The first phase of this project was completed at the end of September 2014. In January 2015 Swiss Red Cross and the Vietnamese Red Cross commenced a second phase of activities CBDRM targeting vulnerable communities in Ca Mau.
Who we are looking for?
We are currently looking for a talented, dynamic, and highly motivated person to be involved into an intensive Internship to support our work. You must be a team player and an excellent communicator. You must have strong administrative and people skills and be able to demonstrate initiative in completing assigned tasks. Your main objective will be to provide finance and administrative support to the implementation of SRC activities.In this role you will also be supported by the SRC Program Manager and the Administration and Finance Team in Hanoi. .
Job description – Internship
Title: Finance and Administrative Intern
Reference: 6 months contract – based in Hanoi with occasional travel to project areas
Supervisor: Finance & Admin Manager
Starting from: May 2016
1. Overall Responsibilities
- Support financial filing system enhancement.
- Regularly input financial expenditure records into SRC’s financial system
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reports
- Support the finance team with the tracking and recording of monthly project expenditure
- Maintain banking and petty cash records.
- Liaise with partners on a monthly basis to get financial report on time
- Support the finance team with banking errands
- Assisting1 Country Representative, 1 Finance and AdministrativeManager, 1Finance and Administrative Officer, in their daily tasks.
- Support translation of documents from Vietnamese into English, as required
2. Qualifications & Skills
- University Degree with in Accounting or Finance.
- Speaks/writes clearly and effectively in English and Vietnamese.
- Proactive, responsible, and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and previous experience in operating financial systems preferable
- Strong ability to work as a part of a Team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
