The SME Development Project in Tra Vinh Province
The SME Development Project in Tra Vinh Province funded by Canada (Global Affairs of Canada) has been carried out from 2014 to 2020. The project is being considered an extension until 2022. One of the medium term outcomes of the project is to increase quantity and improve competitiveness of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Tra Vinh Province.
The project has focused on 3 strategic objectives:
- Objective 1: The startup eco-system and enterprise development in Tra Vinh established, operated and mainstreamed into Mekong Delta and national eco-systems to speed up start-up ideas and establishment of new and innovation enterprises.
- Objective 2: Value chain products are diversified and accessibility to expended market.
- Objective 3: Business environment of Tra Vinh promotes investment and enterprises development
In 2020, SME Tra Vinh project plans to hire an experienced consultancy firm to operate the Start-up Incubator of Tra Vinh province (Bidding type: quality-and-cost-based selection). The consultant will work with the project to provide learning-by-doing support to partners such as Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Science and Technology, Women Union and Tra Vinh University to implement a standardized program in incubation and enhance startup ideas as well as to initiate the Seed Fund for Startup. As the project budget plan in 2020 is under the process of approval by Canadian donor and Provincial People’s Committee of Tra Vinh province, the bidding process will be carried out right after having the approved plan expectably in March 2020. At the present, SME Tra Vinh project would like to notice consultancy firms having interest in “The pilot operation of Start-up Incubator of Tra Vinh province in one year” to prepare document for the bidding process.
