Organization: Plan International Vietnam, re-established in 1993, is an international child-centered community development organization working in 73 countries. Plan is working in partnership with local people; organizations and government bodies to help children in Vietnam meet their basic needs as well as expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
Project: “Ending Child Marriage” (ECM) funded by NORAD is a project aiming at protecting children/girls from different hams of child marriage in HaGiang, Lai Chau and Quang Tri provinces, from Jan 2016 to Dec 2019. The project outcomes included: i)Children, particularly adolescent girls are empowered to secure their rights”; ii) “Parents and local leaders take actions to address drivers of child marriage”; iii) “Functional Child protection institutions are strengthen to support the early identification and response to child marriage cases in the communities”; iv) “Strengthening child friendly/center services that preventing child marriage and support child marriage couple” and v) “Regulatory frameworks are effectively implemented and enforced to prevent and respond to child marriage and to support birth registration for children of underage couples”. To feature the situation of child/early marriage as well as Plan’s effort in tackling the issue for communications, awareness raising and influencing purpose.
