The Committee on Judicial Affair is one of nine National Assembly's professional committees, functioning to supervise the implementation of laws and resolutions of different sectors including environmental protection (in accordance with Article 77 of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly).
Since 2018, numerous legislation related to wildlife protection and management have been adopted or revised. They include Penal Code 2015 revised 2017, Resolution 05/2019/NQ-HDTP on the application of Article 234, 244 of the Penal Code, Decree 06/2019/ND-CP to replace Decree 82/2006/NDCP and Decree 32/2006/NDCP on the management of rare, precious and endangered forest animal etc. From May 2019 to August 2019, WCS in collaboration with NA’s Judicial Committee organize field trips to localities with high rate of wildlife violation to collect information and evaluate the practical implementation of new legislation on wildlife protection and management in the period of 1/1/2018 to 31/1/2019.
A consultant group is being recruited to work with WCS to implement this activities. Please find the attached ToR [1] for more details.
