WWF-Vietnam is looking for consultant to conduct an analysis and Reducing the Use of Natural Resources and Costs of Shrimp Aquaculture Production (TOR [1] attached)
1. Major responsibility
- Evaluating the typology of shrimp farming systems and the rate of shrimp survival according to farming systems.
- Evaluating the use of feed sources and optimal ratio of feed for shrimp aquaculture at diversified farming systems.
- Evaluating the performance of energy and some important indicators impacted to costs of shrimp production according to though the database by WWF – Vietnam.
- Evaluating the natural resource use though the database by WWF – Vietnam for shrimp aquaculture impacted to sustainable shrimp aquaculture.
- Calculating/comparing the costs of shrimp production between common practises at farm-gate and consulting guides in applying with BMP/AIP for sustainable shrimp production including crop risks associated
2. Outputs/ deliverable of performance
A report include the contents below:
- Identify of intensive level of shrimp farming systems at different projects areas through the survey and reports by WWF – Vietnam for selecting the sustainable farms in local areas.
- Overview of technology on shrimp production aiming at reducing natural resource use and reducing costs of production (seed, feed, bio-products, energy…) and risks associated through desk document review, consulting experts, interview and local authorities.
- Recommendation of solutions/interventions to support the farmer groups moving with shrimp aquaculture using optimal natural resources and reducing the costs of production in applying with BMP/AIP.
3. Reporting requirement
The consultant will be responsible for submitting the first draft of the report to WWF Vietnam not later than the requirement below:
- Report should be in English and Vietnamese.
- Executive summary 1-2 pages.
- Main text, excel sources and annexes maximum 25 pages.
- Revising towards a publication-ready version (with the consultant full credit as authors) but the study will be considered as WWF’ assets.
4. Required profile of consultant team
Knowledge/Expertise: The consultancy team should include members of related backgrounds: consultancy of responsible shrimp aquaculture, certification, aquatic environment, social – economy, value chains of agricultural products and other relevant fields.
Providing the copy of CVs of implementation team showing the professional degrees.
Experiences:
- Having sound knowledge and experience with responsible aquaculture, socio-economic, value chains and international quality standards;
- Having at least 2 years of working experiences relevant for this assignment such as responsible aquaculture, value chain analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
- Priority to consultancy services having the experiences in Mekong River Delta and responsible aquaculture value chains is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Team leader has fluently in English.
- Having skills and experiences in assessment for methodology, familiar with the project areas and understanding the local languages.
5. Proposal required
- Profile, financial proposals and CVs of consultancy service must be required to be signed and stamped;
- Certifications/degrees of consultant team related to fields as ToR required (copy examples);
