Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (HFHV) is currently seeking a professional individual to serve as a Construction Technical Support Manager, based in Ho Chi Minh City with frequent travels to project sites in Viet Nam. This position is responsible for but not limited to
- Lead the development of construction techniques and supporting quality control documents, which would guide HFHV’s staff during project implementation.
- Engage in identifying and pursuing new, innovative and appropriate construction techniques and designs, and maximize the use of local resources and capacity to increase adequate affordable housing for low income households across Vietnam.
- Ensure HFHV’s construction practices considers the local culture, norms, gender issues; as well as risks from disasters and climate change and appropriate mitigation techniques.
- Train and mentor field construction supervisors to develop and strengthen their necessary knowledge and skills on construction site management, supervision, quality and safety control as needed and requested.
- Actively coordinate with the Volunteer Program Manager, develop and monitor best practices for efficient and safe volunteer construction mobilization. Actively participate in the market housing value chains research and stay informed about trends in program areas and HFHV’s policy.
- Promote active networking with other organizations/agencies running similar programs, business purposes to find areas of collaboration and knowledge sharing and learning.
Requirements:
- University degree in Architecture, Civil or Construction Engineering/ related urban and rural development.
- Minimum 03 years working experience knowledge and experiences working at nonprofit organization is desirable
- Current knowledge of the local building codes, construction techniques, Sphere Standards and other appropriate governmental and environmental regulations.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Vietnamese and English.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office package and key construction design software, including AutoCAD and/or Autodesk
