The UNDP Viet Nam seeks 01 National Socio-economic Expert for Project Preparation “Conservation of Critical Wetland Protected Areas and Linked Landscapes”
The Government of Viet Nam, represented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), received GEF assistance through UNDP to carry out a full size project to establish new wetland protected areas and to create capacities for their effective management to mitigate existing and emerging threats from connected landscapes. The project aims to promote sustainable use of wetlands and of the wider landscape, trough addressing the present barriers to achieve the long-term solution for effective wetlands conservation in Viet Nam.
The UNDP Country Office (CO) in Vietnam is seeking one qualified short-term national Consultant to work as the national Project Preparation Consultant (NPPC2), socio-economic expert.
The NPPC 2 will work in a team with an International Project Preparation Consultant and a NPPC 1- conservation expert to prepare a UNDP/GEF compliant full-size project document, which is fully in line with the Project Identification Form (PIF) that has been approved by the GEF Secretariat in January 2012.
The NPPC 2 will support UNDP Country Office and the project preparation team on all consultative issues related to socio-economic and development issues during the project preparation phase. He/She will facilitate the collection and synthesis of information about the baseline of this project (especially in terms of: Complementary development initiatives, key partners and stakeholders, the existing policy framework and capacity/research gaps). He/She will facilitate local stakeholder consultations, consolidate stakeholder input and guide the preparation of the project in line with national priorities. He/She will also take part in initial preparation missions and support the organization and delivery of the PPG Inception workshop.
The selection will be based on a competitive basis and will comply with UNDP procurement regulations.
