Major Duties:
Under the overall supervision of the Human Resources Coordinator and reporting directly to the Logistic Assistant, the Driver will ensure that the office vehicles are in good running order at all time, and that relevant security and assistance are provided to the persons transported in the IOM vehicles. More particularly, the Driver will:
- Drive IOM office vehicles (7 seats & 4 seats), strictly observe the traffic laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles to ensure cleanliness and roadworthiness. This includes regular check of tires, brakes, engine oil, seat belt, first aid kit, etc.., to ensure its good functioning.
- Arrange for repairs and ensure that the vehicles are kept clean.
- Make sure that the vehicle always has sufficient fuel when driving in the city, and has full tank prior to departures for field trips. He will make sure to refill the tank when it remains 1/3 of fuel in the tank.
- Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to reach the final destination.
- Ensure that the IOM vehicles are used only for official authorised activities, as advised by supervisors.
- Make sure that the log sheet is completed daily and to prepare a monthly report summarising statistics linked to mileage, fuel consumption, etc for submission to the Logistics Assistant.
- Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in discussions in the car which involve IOM and its officials. Under no circumstances should these discussions be disclosed to other parties.
- Take proper measures to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials or property in the car and within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle as well as along transport routes.
- Be alert at all time in protecting passengers driven in the car.
- Ensure that appropriate steps are taken in case of IOM car’s involvement in an accident.
- Knowledge of first aid help and necessary actions to be taken on the road in case of accident.
- Exhibit a presentable and professional attitude at all times.
- Meet IOM staff and visitors at the airport and assist them with Customs and Immigration formalities.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned
- Education/Experience Required: High school graduates with a minimum of eight years of driving experiences in similar settings.
Competence/Skills:
Capabilities to communicate in English; computer skills, especially in Word & Excel; Strong interpersonal & intercultural skills; Good at Customer Service Relations Skills.
