The Centre for International Studies and Cooperation’s (CECI) is a not-for-profit corporation founded in Quebec in 1958 that has operated a Country Office in Hanoi, Vietnam since 1991. According to its mission, “CECI fights poverty and exclusion; it strengthens the development capacity of disadvantaged communities; it supports initiatives for peace, human rights and equity; it mobilizes resources and promotes the exchange of know-how”.
CECI is looking for an experienced and qualified Vietnamese candidate for 02 positions of District Coordinator to support management and implementation the project “Building Community Resilience to Disasters in Upland Areas of Vietnam (BCRD)” funded by Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection- European Commission which focus on Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) and Climate change Adaptation (CCA) integration with Livelihood Program and Humanitarian Response.
These positions will base in Nghe An and Kon Tum province with frequent travel to project sites.
Major responsibilities:
Assist Project Manager to:
- Prepare monthly plan of action, costed work plan for project implementation;
- Liaise with the staff of partner organizations, local authorities and other agencies to build capacity and coordinate appropriately;
- Assist consultants to carry out the scientific study in project site;
- Organize and facilitate technical training for project partners;
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to ensure the quality of work undertaken by the project partners;
- Collect, analyze and manage the required information on the implementation progress of project activities to the Project Manager for the preparation of Project monthly reports;
- Assist in all day-to-day project financial and administrative work and procedures.
Job Specific Competencies
- University degree in agronomic, water resource management, forestry or related fields
- At least 02 year experience in community-based projects in international organization
- Proven professional experience in communication, facilitation and training
- Good English skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with the project area and local residence will be an asset
Gross Annual Salary Full Range: US$ 5,813 to US$ 9,544
