Short Term Project Assistants
Position: 02 Short term project Assistants to support to Australian trainers and 1 Technical Advisor.
Duration: September to December 2009
Salary: by negotiation
Working place: office based in Ho Chi Minh Federation of Labor
Project site: Ho Chi Minh, Binh Duong and Dong Nai Provinces.
The project on “Empowering Union Participation for strengthening the role of VGCL in Better Work Vietnam” supported by ILO and Levi Strauss foundation has been implemented from March 2009 to April 2010, supporting 3 FOL and 18 Garment and Textile enterprise unions including 8 in Ho Chi Minh, 5 in Binh Duong and 5 in Dong Nai.
APHEDA Union Aid Abroad (Australia) in partnership with Federation of Labor of Ho Chi Minh City (FL HCMC), Federation of Labor of Binh Duong (FL BD) and Federation of Labor of Dong Nai (FLDN) is implementing the project with project office based in FL HCMC.
Goal of the project:
Long Term Goal: To enable the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) to effectively engage in social dialogue and in particular in collective bargaining in a market economy.
Short Term Goal: To increase the capacity of the Vietnam General Confederation (VGCL) of Labor to effectively represent workers in export oriented workplaces, notably the garment and textile industry
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting and translation
- Assist Australian trainer and Technical Advisor for day to day work in the project office based in HCM City Federation of Labor office
- Contact / external relations
- Work in liaison with project coordinator who is staff of HCMCity Federation of Labor
Essential Skills and Qualification
- Good command of English (read, write)
- Good communication skills
- Experiences on translation of training, workshop
- Graduate University or studying at university
- Good organiser
- Patience
Preferred Skills and qualifications
Experiences in project work, especially on labor issues
