NGO Resource Centre Newsletter April 1 - 15, 2009

Dear Members and Friends,

As most of you will know by now, Trine Glue Doan has resigned from the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre to further her work in the environment sector. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Trine for the time she has spent working with us. Trine's professionalism, thorough knowledge of Vietnam and dedication made it a true pleasure working with her for more than two and half years. We wish Trine all the best in her future endeavours.

At the same time, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Marko Lovrekovic as the new Managing Co-Director of the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. Marko joins us with a broad understanding of the non-profit sector and 14 years of work experience in developing countries. As a former country director for International Rescue Committee in Kosovo and Croatia, a mission director for Search for Common Ground in Macedonia, and a deputy director for Catholic Relief Services in Croatia and Danish Refugee Council in Kosovo, Marko has acquired extensive knowledge in the fields of civil society development, local capacity building, conflict transformation through media, education for marginalized groups, economic revitalization, medical assistance, agricultural development and community participation.

After completing his last assignment in Kosovo, Marko decided to explore South East Asia and moved to Hanoi a year ago. He has spent the last 12 months traveling throughout Vietnam, learning about the country, meeting local people and appreciating Vietnamese heritage.

Please join us in welcoming Marko Lovrekovic to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre.
