Warhead Explosion Killed 3 in Vietnam Southern Province

Three people were killed when a bomb left over from the war exploded in the southern province of Ca Mau on October 1, police said. The explosion occurred at about 6:10 am at the home of Nguyen Van Thang in Tran Van Thoi District of the province. Thang, 52, was killed on the spot and his daughter-in-law Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung, 22, and 20-month-old Nguyen Anh Thu, his granddaughter, were seriously injured at the scene, according to witnesses. The two relatives died en route to hospital. The explosion left a 1m crater and severed surrounding trees. The next door house was also seriously damaged. (Vietnam News Oct 1)
