Vietnam HCMC Receives $29.28M Aids from Foreign NGOs in H1: Data

Vietnam’s southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City received a total aid of $29.28 million from foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the first half of this year, according to the latest data from the municipal People’s Committee. Of the sum, $2.98 million came from eight projects and $27 million from 79 non-project aids, the agency added. Foreign NGOs have provided aids for the city mainly in the health sector, like programs or projects on fighting HIV/AIDS, medical equipment, and many others. Last year, foreign NGOs granted $72 million for HCMC, up 152% from 2017. The total NGO aid disbursement hit $47.2 million, or 65.6% of total committed aids last year.
