U.S. Funds $5.5M for Quang Binh to Clear Bomb/Mine on Back of NGOs

Three foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are running projects in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Binh to remove unexploded ordnance (UXO), cluster munitions, and other explosives from now to 2022, with $5.5 million in fund from the U.S. Department of State, local media reported. Accordingly, the Norwegian People’s Aid of Norway will implement a cluster munitions survey project and another for the settlement of UXO consequences in Quang Binh. Meanwhile, the U.S.’s PeaceTrees Vietnam, will conduct search for UXO and dispose of the explosives, and the UK’s Mines Advisory Group will carry on with its UXO detection and clearance project in the province.
