Russia’s Saint Petersburg Grants Vietnam Cytoflavin Drugs for COVID Treatment

Russia’s Saint-Petersburg and the “Polysan” Science & Technology Company based in the city have presented a batch of cytoflavin, an anti-viral drug against COVID-19, to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to help the latter fight the virus, local media reported. The shipment included nearly 2,400 boxes of cytoflavin at an estimated cost of VND1 billion ($43,103). Colonel Tran Tien Phuong, Vietnamese defense attaché to Russia, appreciated this gift, saying that the support will contribute to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Cytoflavin is currently being used as part of the treatment regimen for COVID-19 patients in Russia and is typically used for the prevention of acute ischemic stroke. Earlier in March, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev granted Vietnam a batch of 1,000 doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine while visiting the Southeast Asian country.
