JICA to Support Vietnam Nghe An in Irrigation, Anti-flooding Projects

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has committed to supporting Vietnam’s central province of Nghe An in upgrading and constructing irrigation and anti-flooding projects, local media reported. JICA Vietnam’s representatives made the pledge at a working session with authorities of Nghe An province on January 7 morning. Specifically, JICA Vietnam will help upgrade South Nghe An irrigation system, the second-largest of its kind in the locality. The biggest one is North Nghe An system, with a total investment of VND5.7 trillion ($245.69 million), which supplies water for 29,000 hectares of agricultural land and daily life. Besides, JICA Vietnam will help deal with flooding in Vinh city in Nghe An province, with Japanese technologies. (Bao Nghe An, baonghean)
