Full Scholarship for Master's Degree Program

The Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship (APS) for cohort 14; the year 2020-2021 is now accepting applications!! The deadline is 16 August 2019.

University for Peace (Costa Rica) and Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines), with support from The Nippon Foundation, have been providing a full-scholarship master’s degree program - APS - since 2007. The APS aims to train young Asian nationals with the overall objective of making a significant contribution to developing the global leadership that is able to deal with the complex challenges to peacebuilding.

In particular, the programme is designed to strengthen the representation of Asian professionals with expertise in Asian issues including peace, human rights, and sustainable development. To-date, 333 students have been awarded scholarships to participate in the programme, and many of the graduates now hold notable positions in a wide variety of organizations including UN agencies, IGOs, (I)NGOs and government.

The academic study of APS is made up of the intensive English language learning component, Master of Arts at University for Peace, and Master of Science at Ateneo de Manila University in Social Development. Students selected to participate in the APS programme receive a full scholarship that covers tuition, airfare, transit and some visa costs for all programme components, and a monthly stipend.
