The Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA), under the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Plan International, Care International, World Vision International, and Oxfam will grant an aid package worth VND55 billion ($2.4 million) to help the storm-hit region in central Vietnam deal with the difficulties, state media reported. The aid package will be launched in six months from October in four flood-affected central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Quang Nam. It aimed to support the people post-natural disasters, focusing on providing emergency relief, food, essentials, and cash as well as help locals recover their livelihood through the development of breeding models, seed supply, and others. Besides, these organizations paid attention to the tasks of protection and psychological support for children. The Dutch Government is willing to help the government and localities of Vietnam soon recover the consequences caused by natural disasters, and also to improve the role of social organizations in accompanying the government in development, said Mr. Laurent Umans, First Secretary of Water Management and Climate Change of the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam.
