Project Objective

SI is implementing the new USAID/Vietnam Learns Contract. The scope of the five-year project is to support USAID/Vietnam staff and its implementing partners to implement more efficient, effective, and sustainable programs by (1) improving staff P knowledge and skills in Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) and Collaborating, Learning & Adapting (CLA); (2) advancing evidence-informed decision-making; (3) strengthening strategic collaboration between staff and local stakeholders.

Position Description

SI is seeking a consultant to provide facilitation for two upcoming events. The estimated level of effort is up to 12 days. The events are intended to provide participants with the opportunity to look back on several months of work, reflect on what lessons have been learned, and identify any adjustments that need to be made for future planning. Both events are planned for early August. This position will report to the Senior Director for Organizational Learning.

**Please Note: This is a local position. Only Vietnamese citizens will be eligible to apply.**

Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Organizational Learning Director to design agenda, breakout groups, and learning activities for a half day reflection event with USAID and USAID Learns (ceiling four days of LOE). Specific responsibilities for this event will include:
    • Designing event agenda
    • Working with operations team on room set-up
    • Providing operations team with information on breaks (if necessary)
    • Developing detailed facilitators guide that includes participatory breakout sessions
    • Working with Learns to organize note-taking for event
    • Preparing final event report
  • Work with Senior Organizational Learning Director to design agenda, breakout groups, and learning activities for a two-day work planning/team building event with USAID Learns (ceiling eight days of LOE). Specific responsibilities for this event will include:
    • Designing event agenda
    • Working with operations team on room set-up
    • Providing operations team with information on breaks (if necessary)
    • Developing detailed facilitators guide that includes participatory breakout sessions
    • Working with Learns to organize note-taking for event
    • Preparing final event report

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as organizational development, organizational psychology, sociology, social psychology, international development, etc.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in group facilitation, and workshop planning required.
  • Familiarity with USAID’s approach to Collaborating, Learning & Adapting (CLA) a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication and administrative skills are required.
  • Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Written and oral fluency in English is required.
