The Opportunity | Vocational Education and Training (VET) Project Manager

Australia, through Aus4Skills, is assisting Vietnam to develop a high quality, competency-based and industry driven VET system that meets market needs, increases productivity and supports economic growth.

The VET Manager leads and manages the Promoting Logistics Industry Linkages with VET project (VET project), so that Aus4Skills contributes to the strengthening of the VET sector in Vietnam. This includes developing and implementing an effective annual plan and reporting on progress in accordance with the project’s goal, objectives and strategies.

  • Location: Hanoi with occasional travel to other cities and provinces
  • Full-time position until December 2025, with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an annual plan for the VET project, in accordance with the project’s goal and objectives and ensure the delivery of VET project activities.
  • Provide informed strategic advice and input to the VET project to address evolving Vietnamese and Australian government needs.
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with relevant partners and wider stakeholders.

About You

You are a goal oriented professional with a passion for promoting, developing, delivering and evaluating training courses. Your experience in the education system and well as stake high-level stakeholder management, will see you succeed in this position, and support the strengthening of the VET sector in Vietnam.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree(s) in education, vocational education, human resources, international development, project management or equivalent professional experience 

Experience

  • Professional experience in the planning and management of teams or projects involving capacity development, training, or skills development.
  • Experience with planning, implementing and evaluating a variety of activities.
  • Experience with the Vietnamese education system and, preferably, also with the Australian education system.
  • Previous experience with Australian Government-funded projects.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent analytical capabilities and writing and communication skills in English language.
  • Proven understanding of a wide-range of cross-cutting issues - such as gender equality, disability and social inclusion, child protection, preventing sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, and fraud control.

Personal Attributes

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at both strategic and implementation levels with good problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate with persons at various levels of seniority and of various cultures and disciplines.
