The Opportunity |  (VET) Communications and Policy Officer

The goal of Aus4Skills is to support Vietnam to access and use high level professional and  technical knowledge, skills and competencies, to contribute to the country’s sustainable economic and inclusive development. The program also aims to deepen Vietnamese and Australian people-to-people and therefore strengthen the partnership between the two countries.Aus4Skills is managed by Tetra Tech International Development on behalf of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Working closely with the VET Project Manager, the VET Communications and Policy Officer will provide communication, advocacy and reporting support and input to the VET project, Promoting Logistics Industry Linkages in Vocational Education and Training (VET)

  • Joint a program making a difference in Vietnam’s economic development
  • Location: Hanoi with occasional travel to other cities and provinces
  • part-time-time position until December 2025, with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual communications, advocacy and reporting plan for the VET project.
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of VET communications,  advocacy  and  reporting activities and outputs.
  • Support the VET Manager to draft concept papers, policy briefing papers, activity proposals and annual plans and reports and meet other reporting requirements

You are a driven individual with a passion for communication and stakeholder engagement. Your will have excellent attention to detail and thrive working under pressure and have the ability to respond quickly to new demands.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Relevant undergraduate tertiary qualifications from an internationally-recognised institution or professional experience equivalent.

Experience

  • At least five years of communications experience in an international context, preferably  in  an education, capacity development or development project setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing communication plans, and proactively identifying and taking action on relevant communications opportunities.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining stakeholder networks, across multiple sectors and with varying interests.

Knowledge and Skills

  • High-level English and Vietnamese language writing skills, including the ability to write for a variety of audiences in different formats.
  • Knowledge of the Vietnamese education sector, with specific knowledge about vocational education an advantage.
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to create presentations and learn customised programs.
