Vacancies for Anticipated USAID funded Ocean Plastics Activity

DAI seeks candidates for various roles on an anticipated USAID funded Ocean Plastics Activity in Vietnam that will focus on marine plastics pollution. This program will address factors in Vietnam that drive the generation, disposal, and management of plastic wastes.

Experts sought in the following areas:

  • Solid Waste Management and Marine Plastics Pollution: lead all technical activities related to service delivery, financing, behavior change and engagement of citizens for solid waste management and marine plastics pollution, including source reduction. Qualifications: minimum of 8 years of experience in the solid waste and recycling industry or in solid waste engineering, design, planning, operations/management, financing, and collaboration with private or community-based organizations.
  • Governance and Capacity Building: lead efforts to strengthen policies and the institutional capacity of government agencies, citizens and CSOs, and enterprises to improve service delivery related to solid waste management and ocean plastics pollution. Provide technical assistance to national and sub-national agencies. Qualifications: minimum 8 years of experience in civic engagement and local governance with an understanding of international best practice and/or solid waste policies and regulations in Vietnam. Experience facilitating citizen engagement, stakeholder coordination and capacity strengthening.
  • Private Sector Partnerships: lead private sector engagement, investment facilitation, public-private partnerships (PPPs) and other financial mechanism development in the solid waste management sector. Engage diverse private sector leaders. Qualifications: 5 years of experience with the private sector to develop PPPs and other innovative financial mechanisms. Ability to engage diverse actors.
  • Behavior Change: lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen and sustain efforts to reduce ocean plastic pollution through targeted awareness raising campaigns, education and other initiatives. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and leading social and behavior change campaigns, including experience with social marketing, and strategic communications.
