TOR Foreign Volunteer at ORBIS South East Asia

ORBIS is a non-aligned, non-profit global development organization whose mission is to prevent and treat blindness by providing quality eye care to transform lives.
ORBIS first started to work in Vietnam in 1996 through various exchanges and visits of surgical faculty to the Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology (VNIO). In 2003, ORBIS country office was established in Hanoi.  ORBIS is positioning itself as a leading eye care NGO in Vietnam. ORBIS has been supporting Vietnam to build capacity for blindness prevention through three strategies of building secondary and lower level eye care capacity in the provinces; strengthening tertiary ophthalmic centre capacity; advocacy for blindness prevention and eye health care. So far, ORBIS has supported 14 projects under its direct management in more than 20 targeted provinces across the country. ORBIS supported projects aims to ensure the quality of eye care services which are available, affordable and sustainable. ORBIS currently has 12 Vietnamese staff working in Hanoi.

They are looking for a native speaking English person to improve the documentation in their office include (but not limited to): review/ edit  the important document and external  communication (e.g. reports, proposal, research document), writing articles and perform other related work such as collecting information, conduct a field visits. He/she will also be required to help local staff to improve English skills both in speaking and writing.

Requirements:
- Undergraduate education (or final-year student) in English language , teaching, , social sciences, public health or related background
- Good command of both spoken and written English
- Previous experience volunteering (or working) for an INGO would be an asset
- Confident working with a multicultural team

Allowance
Volunteers will not be paid; however, approved work-related expenses will be reimbursed. And small monthly honorarium would be provided in case of need.

Part-time or full-time (negotiable).
