The project "Improving quality basic education for ethnic minority children in three disadvantaged provinces in Vietnam” is a joint project of the Save the Children and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Training (Department of the Ethnic minority education as the lead agency) in the three provinces of Yen Bai, Quang Tri and Dien Bien. The Beyond WTO Program was developed in response to a request from the Government of Vietnam for donor support to help with managing economic integration and the transition to a market economy in the period after Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The Program has been constructed to enhance Vietnam’s capacity to sustain pro-poor growth and protect poverty reduction gains through implementation of Viet Nam commitments in the WTO.

Project Design and Management Expert Responsibilities:
The Vietnam-Canada Program Support Unit (PSU) is a Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) bilateral project. Its purpose is to provide support to CIDA’s development assistance program in Vietnam in order to maximize the development results and impact of the program. The PSU requires the services of a National Environment Specialist Consultant part-time as required by CIDA to support their program in Vietnam in fulfilling its environment-related objectives and results from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012.
HEMA is a EU-funded project supporting the Ministry of Health in 5 provinces of Vietnam. The project has worked intensively with the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and Health Insurance Department of MoH to improve the access by the poor to quality health services in disadvantaged remote areas of Vietnam. In the context of the rapid expansion of health insurance and social security systems in Vietnam, the project must document the strategies developed with the MoH and the VSS in the provinces in order to draw lessons learned and experiences and disseminate the findings.
