For the voiceovers/subtitles of Ophthalmic videos on CyberSight

Introduction

Orbis is an international non-profit that brings people together to fight avoidable blindness. Orbis Vietnam, a branch of Orbis International, was established in Hanoi in 2003 and began collaborating with Vietnam’s ophthalmic communities through hospital-based projects in 1996. Orbis has been providing the highest level of expertise to support the capacity development of the ophthalmic medical staff in different ways. Particularly, Orbis is developing an online learning platform (CyberSight) with diversified resources and training methods from basic to advance. With an abundant source of theoretical and practical videos and lectures, ophthalmic communities worldwide have been provided with the opportunities to learn at their convenience.

With the purpose of universalizing the e-learning method, facilitating the use of available materials on CyberSight for Vietnamese, Orbis Vietnam has implemented the translation for ophthalmic materials from English to Vietnamese, including instructing videos. Accordingly, Orbis Vietnam is seeking for a service supplier to voiceover/subtitle these videos.

Scope of Work

1. Subtitle

  • Subtitle for designated videos following provided transcriptions (with timestamps).
  • Subtitle form will be agreed between Orbis and the supplier.
  • Attend meetings to discuss on the quality of videos (if needed).

2. Voiceover

  • Recording voice for videos following provided transcriptions (with timestamps)
  • Voiceover for videos with recorded voice following provided transcriptions
  • Voice inputs should have a similar tone as original videos and standard accent of Vietnamese as broadcasted in official national channel.

Timing for work completion and submission

Allocated time for work completion and submission for a 3-5minute video (one page of A4 transcription) do not exceed 2 (two) days after fully receiving needful materials. The work will be divided into multiple times based on progress of the project.

Deliverables

  • Subtitled/voiceovered videos should ensure the standard image quality in presenting (for subtitles) and in the volume, context (for voiceovers) and consistency with the original content.

Professional Requirements

  • Experience in professional subtitling/voice-overing. Experience in voice-overing and subtitling in medical field is an advantage.
  • Solid technical understanding of subtitling/voice-overing tools required, Wincaps, EZtitle, Spot, etc.
  • Knowledge of different subtitles/ voiceover audio formats such as SCC, SRT, STL, PAC, TTML (.dfxp, .xml, .ttml, .wav, .aiff, .mp3).
  • Having sufficient facilities, resources and tools for subtitling, recording, voice-overing.
  • Must be highly organized and able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Pay great attention to details in designated tasks.
  • Fluency in both English and Vietnamese is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in tight schedule.

Instructions for application submission

  • For service supplier: Company profile with list of key clients and brief of the team, a copy of business registration certificate and a proposal with service price quoted in Vietnam Dongs. Recommendation letters from clients would be an advantage.
  • For individual consultant: A resume, motivation letter, copies of certifications and your consultant fee.

Samples of previous work would be valuable for our evaluation.
