Service Provider - Knowledge Materials

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+.

The Agriculture Program of SNV is engaged in the agriculture sector in Vietnam implementing Sustainable Market, Inclusive Business and Climate Change adaption and mitigation activities.  The Agriculture Program is implementing a number of projects throughout the country.  These projects will support and build the capacity of local communities and provincial agencies to meet the requirements of sustainable agricultural production in a changing environment. The projects produce and require a variety of knowledge products to inform all stakeholders, including project beneficiaries, implementers, policy makers and the global audience. These knowledge and communication products need to meet stringent requirements on informational quality and presentation in order to strengthen the message and to position the Agriculture Program in SNV as a high-value knowledge institution in Vietnam and globally.

The Agriculture Program in SNV is seeking to engage with a service provider for a long-term relationship to foster and protect its position through the production of quality knowledge and communications materials in the English language.

SCOPE OF WORK:

SNV is seeking an individual/company who can take content produced by projects and produce high quality reports and communication materials in the English language. The service provider is expected to proof and correct language use in reports and to produce short excerpts from larger bodies of text for use in briefs, brochures and fliers, with page make-up based on provided templates and other corporate style instructions, using standard desktop software. All work is expected to be performed on the premises of the company, using company resources, with communication with SNV through electronic means.

SNV will sign a contract for the year 2013 with the successful applicant for production of materials on a per-piece basis, as the need arises. The projected initial size of the contract is €15,000, including all applicable taxes; payment requests for partial amounts will be made based on work satisfactorily completed and against agreed upon page fees. Upon satisfactory service the contract may be renewed on an annual basis with an adjusted budget based on projected requirements.

TASKS:
- Proof and correct reports written in the English language by non-native English speakers. Reports will be delivered as text processor files and returned in the same format.
- Produce briefs, brochures and fliers from text and other material (e.g. pictures, drawings, tables) into a provided template, for a variety of dissemination options (e.g. printed, internet, presentations) and formats.

SCHEDULE:
A contract will be signed for the remainder of 2013. Work will be undertaken as the need arises and on an agreed upon schedule. Payment requests can be made for each task undertaken against an agreed upon rate.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Established operation in English language proofing and translations.
- Established operation in the production of communication materials.
- Native language capability of staff.

- Cover letter which includes specific reference to prior relevant experience.
- CVs of proposed key staff, with a maximum of two pages each; in a single file.
