PSI currently seeks a talented and motivated individual to work full-time as SENIOR ADVOCACY SPECIALIST with our dynamic, results-oriented team in Hanoi

This position will be 2-year contract with possibility of extension, report to PSI’s Country Director or Designated

Job summary: The Senior Advocacy Specialist will provide technical advice and support on all advocacy works of PSI’s program in Vietnam including the development of advocacy strategies, plans and management of the implementation process. The position is also responsible for capacity building for program team on advocacy skills and techniques. This position will work in close collaboration with KM&C team to make sure that our advocacy is evidence based and on the other hand advocacy strategy inform research and communication priorities.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the development of PSI country strategy and program
  • Take lead in the development of PSI advocacy strategy and plan in collaboration with Program Director and KMC Senior Manager.
  • Provide technical advice and capacity building for program team on advocacy and campaigning approaches/strategies and tactics to influence decision makers and publics
  • Coordinate with program teams, Knowledge Management & Communications departments to ensure cohesion and effectiveness of PSI interventions and their linkage to campaign and advocacy strategies
  • Support Knowledge Management & Communication unit in identifying and documenting program works in better serving influencing and fundraising purpose
  • Collaborate with research and M&E coordinators in process to identify research themes and M&E information/data that are critical for PSI’s advocacy and influencing objectives.
  • Develop and manage relationships with a diverse range of advocacy allies
  • Manage the budget of PSI’s relevant advocacy works.
  • Represent and communicate PSI’s advocacy positions when appropriate to institutions, government, international, national organizations and public as required.
  • Work alongside with the regional and global campaign and advocacy focal points to ensure alignment with agreed PSI’s positions and seeking opportunity to contribute Vietnam level evidence and experience.

Qualification requires:

  • Have a relevant education at academic level, preferably in a development-related field.
  • Substantial knowledge about public health issues and health sector priorities in Vietnam.
  • Extensive experience in analysis of contexts at the national and regional levels
  • Demonstrable recent and substantial work experience on campaign and policy advocacy.
  • Experience in strategic planning and program development
  • Experience in managing and monitoring development projects, including partnership management.
  • Sound experience on capacity building and good facilitation skills
  • Analytical thinking skills and abilities to influence others.
  • Good understanding of the Vietnamese context.
  • Excellent analysis and writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills
  • Fluency in English

Annual gross salary range US$ 23,660 - 43,940 plus other competitive benefits & fringes
