PSI currently seeks a talented and motivated Scoping Consultant to work part-time with our dynamic, results-oriented team in Hanoi:

Job Title: SCOPING CONSULTANT (part-time, up to 20 working days during June – August 2019)

Job summary: With the goal of designing new solutions for reducing unintended pregnancy among girls and young women (aged 10 -24 years old) in Vietnam, PSI is looking for a qualified consultant, working part-time, to conduct a scoping review of existing policy, regulatory environment and programs related to sexual reproductive health to reduce unintended pregnancy among adolescent girls and young women in Vietnam for the period of June through August 2019

Key responsibilities include

To work closely with PSI’s Program and Strategic Information Department to design, plan and utilize the following strategies for the scoping review:

  • Literature review of available documents, studies, strategies and policies in Vietnam related to unintended pregnancy or reproductive health need among girls and young women in Vietnam
  • Consultative meetings, including technical consultation, with government and non-state actors, as well as in-depth interviews with a few key informants (policy makers, program managers at national and local level, youth umbrella groups, including non-state actors engaged in programming) on national priorities, ongoing programs, plans for the coming years, opportunities and areas for potential collaboration.

Expected deliverables include:

  • A detailed work plan and specification of techniques to be used
  • A draft report which includes feedback upon collection, analysis, and interpretation of all qualitative and quantitative data, and stakeholders interview results.
  • A final report of maximum 10 pages in English with relevant comments and suggestions incorporated
  • Participate and present at a briefing meeting with key stakeholders and a 3-day design workshop with target audience tentatively in November-December 2019

Selection criteria:

  • Postgraduate degree in one of the following areas: Public Health, Social Sciences or other relevant fields
  • At least five years of experience in international development, with a focus on reproductive health, public health and program management; A demonstrable experience of undertaking and leading literature reviews, as well as assessments and/or evaluations and extensive report writing
  • Language: Fluency in Written English language
  • Experience in reproductive health research, report analysis, compilation of information from various sources, and drafting of analytical reports
  • Experience in engaging and coordinating with different international organizations, governments, donors, civil society is preferred
