RESULTS-BASED PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEACHING CONSULTANCY

management (RBM)

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international non-profit humanitarian organization that works and raises funds to support children's education, community development, health care, sanitation, and saving the world. emergency aid. Currently, GNI has operated in more than 40 countries, supporting about 17 million people, including more than 10 million children. GNI has been operating in Vietnam since 2005 with Community Development Projects (CDPs) in 4 provinces: Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa and Ha Giang. GNI is working in areas such as child protection, child protection, education, clean water and sanitation, and livelihoods with more than 11,000 sponsored children.

In 2021, according to the plan to improve the capacity of staff of the Education and Child Protection group, GNI recruits a consultant to teach the content of Project Management based on results. The specific information is as follows:

II. OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE OF WORK

1. Target

Contribute to improving the work efficiency of Education and Child Protection team staffs through improving results-based project management (RBM) skills

2. Expected results

  • Participants get an overview of the relationship between results-based project management and the development orientation of GNI and the field of education and child protection (GNI is in charge of this section)
  • Participants master the basic theories of RBM.
  • Participants know how to apply RBM to the construction and management of the projects of the Education and Child Protection team (focusing on the content of developing the results framework and result chain, choosing indicators, and making M&E plans) . (This main content can be adjusted based on the results of the needs assessment)

3. Scope of work

The consultant will undertake the following main tasks:

  • Develop tools and conduct a preliminary assessment on the trained group to identify pre-training needs.
  • Based on the results of the initial assessment, agree on the content of the teaching together with the GNI.
  • Develop detailed lesson plans
  • Conduct planned teaching in groups

4. Output result

  • 01 results-based project management content needs assessment on staff conducted
  • 01 needs report on project management content based on employee results is completed
  • 01 needs-based curriculum is built
  • 03 days of direct training on target groups according to the developed program
  • 01 report on operational results has been completed

5. Product Inquiry

  • Make sure to link theory with practical programs that the target group is implementing (consultant will need to research current programs that GNI is implementing)
  • Ensure the practice time and the group of participants can develop specific content, applicable in real work.
  • The approach to learners and content is creative, innovative, and maximizes the participation of learners.

III. TIME, LOCATION AND OBJECTS OF IMPLEMENTATION

1. Implementation time: from July 5 to July 29, 2021 (training from July 26 to 28)
2. Place: In Hanoi and GNI's planned training site
3. Object

  • 06 project manager of GNI
  • 15 employees of GNI's Education and Child Protection team

IV. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSULTANTS

  • Master's degree or higher in Sociology, Project Management, Community Development...
  • At least 5 years or more of relevant expertise and experience in results-based project management.
  • Experience in working with social organizations, training and/or directly participating in community development projects related to education and child protection is a great advantage.
  • Have an innovative, creative, attractive and effective approach to and transmission.

V. BENEFITS OF CONSULTANT

  • The consultant will receive the cost as agreed between the two parties and in accordance with GNI's policy.
  • The consultant will receive relevant documents and information for the planning and implementation of the curriculum.
