Request for Application on Reducing Pollution in Craft Villages in the Northern Provinces of Vietnam

REQUEST FOR APPLICATION RFA-6997-22-03 ON REDUCING POLLUTION IN CRAFT VILLAGES
IN THE NORTHERN PROVINCES OF VIETNAM

In support of Vietnam’s efforts to address environmental pollution challenges, Winrock International is implementing the five-year USAID-funded Reducing Pollution Activity (2021- 2026) to build locally-driven initiatives to address environmental pollution challenges using a collective impact approach. The collective impact approach addresses complex challenges by mobilizing diverse actors to collaborate, identify ways to solve a shared problem, and take action based on their roles and comparative advantages. The project works to demonstrate clear connections between environmental benefits and other social benefits, including public health, employment, and sustainable economic growth.

To achieve the project objectives, Winrock International in close collaboration with the Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) are facilitating a portfolio of collective impact initiatives led by local organizations, with multi-stakeholder support.

As part of this project, Winrock is pleased to announce a Request for Application (RFA) for Collective Impact to reduce pollution in craft villages in the Northern provinces of Viet Nam. The purpose of this RFA is to solicit applications from prospective grantees to serve as the “backbone organization(s)” to lead a vibrant network of local government, community, university, research institute, and private sector partners to address the challenge of reducing pollution from craft villages in the Northern provinces of Viet Nam.

Winrock expects to award one grant under this RFA. Each individual grant amount is expected to be between US$100,000 and $125,000 per year, with an anticipated period of performance for individual grants a maximum of 36 months from the date of award.

This RFA is open to Vietnamese non-governmental organizations. A pre-application conference will be held online on 30 September 2022 to provide specific information to all potential applicants.
