Publication Production for SNV REDD+ Programme 2012/13

SNV’s Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) team is seeking a design company to assist with producing high-quality publications. The successful candidate will need to have a high proficiency in:

- English proof-reading, preferably by native speaker(s), with proven editing experience 
- Designing publications that are highly appealing to international audiences
- Proven track records of producing high-quality publications of varying lengths and style
- The successful candidate will be offered a one-year framework agreement with SNV on producing publications.
- Background & requirements

SNV REDD+ programme started in Vietnam in 2009 and is expanding quickly across Asia and Africa. SNV has identified six areas for intervention necessary to make REDD+ work, while supporting the poor and enhancing biodiversity. They are:

1.Low Emission Development Plans
2.Benefit Distribution Systems
3.Livelihood Linkages
4.Participatory Forest Monitoring
5.Social & Environmental Co-benefits
6.Reduced Biomass Local Energy Solutions

SNV REDD+ is currently carrying out eight projects in Asia and Africa, and is looking to be more appealing to its stakeholders at both international and national levels through visually attractive, informative and professionally-presented publications and promotional materials.

There is also a growing need within SNV REDD+ to ensure that the publications are produced to a high standard in both terms of layout and content.

Outputs

Proof-reading and designing of publications for SNV’s REDD+ Programme, in compliance with SNV’s branding and co-branding guidelines

Requirements:

- Proven track records of producing high-quality publications

- Proven experience in English proof-reading and designing high quality reports, research papers, brochures and other publications suitable for international audiences

- Provision of cost estimates for each type of publication, based on the number of pages, photo sorting, graphics redrawing, etc. (the more detailed the costing, the better).

Timeline: One-year framework agreement with SNV, effective from the date of signing.
