We are looking for a Project Officer for the SDC Wetland Project, based in Ho Chi Minh City. The project will focus on key wetlands of the Mekong Delta to improve local communities’ livelihoods and their climate change adaptation capacity while restoring and conserving the wetland ecosystem they rely on. As our Project Officer, you will be in charge of the field implementation of project activities on “Improving the lives of poor communities in Viet Nam’s Mekong delta through conservation-friendly alternative livelihoods in Ramsar designated wetlands”, while ensuring compliance with donors and WWF’s policies. 

Key requirements for the role:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in fields related to Natural Resources Management, Environmental Protection, Water Resources Management, Biology.
  • Proven experience in planning and implementing NGOs’ projects
  • Experience in working or liaising with GO and NGO bodies (e.g protected area, national park), and working in multi-stakeholders settings.
  • Good understanding of the Mekong Delta, specifically on issues related to wetland conservation, water bird conservation, climate change, salinity intrusion, hydrology, community development, livelihood improvement.
  • Knowledge of the policy/institutional context related to wetland conservation and the government agencies, development partners, donor institutions, and the not- for-profit sector in the region
