Background East Meets West is an international NGO headquartered in the United States and has offices in seven countries in Southeast Asia, including Cambodia. The Clean Water and Sanitation Program (CWSP) was started in Vietnam in 1994, and currently serves about 350,000 people across rural areas of Vietnam. In recent years, EMW has expanded the CWSP to Cambodia by developing a clean water project at a local primary school, and is now expanding to include another clean water project for a local high school, a rural clean water system for about 575 households, and a potential major sanitation program using output-based aid methodology reaching about 25,000 families in two provinces.
