Our actions aim to increase the incomes of rural and urban populations, reduce their vulnerability, improve their access to quality infrastructures and services, and develop their ability to be heard.

In Vietnam, GRET operates in 6 provinces in mountainous and remote regions since 1989 in the fields of Nutrition, Environment, Value chains and Family Farming and Institutional development of cooperatives.

Under the framework of the project entitled SYNERGIES “Support Young NGO network to Empower Rural Groups to Integrate Environment in Society”, with the duration of 3 years (03/2011-03/2014) funded by European Union, GRET Vietnam is seeking for a well-qualified and experienced applicant for the position of PROJECT MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE:
With the support of the project Director and Gret Representative Office, the Project Manager will be responsible for implementing SYNERGIES project to achieve all expected outcomes of the project.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Project management
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of SYNERGIES Project activities to ensure the proper conduct of project.
- Be responsible for making plans (annual plan and medium-term plan) of the project.
- Provide technical support to two main components of the project (1) Capacity building for the local NGO network, (2) Linkage with local stakeholders and support for local environmental development and policy

2. Budget management and fundraising
- With support of the administrative team of GRET, be fully responsible for budget management of the Project including budget planning, regular budget projection, expenditure monitoring, and financial report preparing in compliance with GRET system and procedures
- Identify funding gaps according to the project purpose and drafting fundraising proposals or conducting fundraising initiatives.

3. Reporting
- Be responsible for the elaboration of progress, annual and other types of narrative and financial reports to GRET and relevant donors.
- Facilitate similar processes among partners, as required.

4. Representation and networking
- Represent the Project to relevant partners and local authorities in consultation with the project Director and country Representative of GRET
- Link/communicate with other organizations/projects to learn relevant experiences; foster cooperation for SYNERGIES and collaboration in consultation with the project Director and country Representative of GRET.

5. Communication with other program sectors within GRET
- Communicate with other program sectors within GRET to promote the activities and visibility of GRET in Vietnam

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Effective date: March  2011
Reports to: Project Director (based in GRET Paris) and Country Representative in Vietnam
Type of contract: Fixed term contract of one (01) year (extendable)
Location: Hanoi office with travels to the fields
Salary: based on GRET’s internal salary calculation schedule and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
University degree in Sociology, Socio-economics, Social Sciences, or related fields
A minimum of 3-year working experience directly related to project management.
Knowledge and experience of capacity building
Understanding of works of the public sector, and social and institutional dynamics.
Knowledge of essential development issues; previous experience in working with NGOs (international and/or national) would be an advantage.
Knowledge of environment and climate change.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills (Vietnamese, French and/or English). 
Proficiency in standard software packages.
