TERMS OF REFERENCE - PROJECT INTERN FOR ROSA-LUXEMBURG-STIFTUNG SOUTHEAST ASIA – REGIONAL OFFICE IN VIETNAM (RLS SEA)

1.Introduction

Rosa-Luxemburg Sitftung is one of six political foundations of Germany supports partners in developing countries striving for Social Justice, Participatory Politics and Social-Economic transformation of their respective countries.

In February 2009 the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) had granted the "Representative Office in Vietnam" license for Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung. Since 2010, Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung started cooperating with a partner organization in Cambodia and since 2013 it is having partnerships in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar – achieving the full function of a regional office: Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Southeast Asia.

In response to the growing workload of a regional office, RLS plan to seek for a local intern for project management unit. Further information about this position is as follow

2.Scope of assignment

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the intern is responsible for doing the assigments and tasks on a daily basis. More specifically, the tasks are as follows:

  • Provide support in program/project monitoring & evaluation
  • Assist Project Managers  in preparation of program documentation, paper works
  • Providing logistics support in organizing international/national events or fieldtrips
  • Ensure the on time submission of required outputs from partners and properly filing the outputs electrically and physically.
  • Provide interpretation/translation support in case of need.
  • Attend to and do the assignment for the activities organized by RLS SEA upon request;
  • Attend to and monitor the activities organized by RLS SEA’s cooperation partners upon request;
  • Assist to the project managers in cases of project documentation/filing
  • Support admin works and organization of RLS’s event when requested
  • Other tasks upon request.

Moreover, the intern can propose doing tasks related to his/her study that requests support from RLS SEA: writing paper or thesis related to their study

3.Requirements

  • Committed Vietnamese citizen;
  • Interested in the political and economic development of Vietnam, as well as the ASEAN region
  • Graduate university student/ last-year student  with specialisation on social sciences  is an advantage;
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and creative in solving problems;
  • Ability to work independently and with a team;
  • Proficiency in English; and command of German is an asset
  • Good computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email);

4.Working conditions & benefit

  • Internship duration: 3 to 6 months, starting from 30 March 2015;
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m to 6 p.m;
  • Working facilities are provided;
  • Work location: RLS SEA’s office at No. 72 Xuan Dieu street, Tay Ho district, Hanoi, Vietnam;
  • This position is unpaid
  • Receive a Reference Letter/ Support letters from RLS SEA after finish the internship upon request
