Project Assistant for MEF Project at University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City

The Education and Research Capacity Building Project at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, also known as the Medical Education for the Future (MEF) Project, aims to build capacity for higher education in Vietnamese health institutions to establish sustainable quality improvement for Vietnam’s public health. It will also provide the development model for medical science in Vietnam by improving quality of UMP undergraduate education, postgraduate training program and research capacity.

The MEF Office is currently seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of project assistant.

Project Assistant:

 

  • ?Report to: Director of the MEF Office
  • Workplace: 3rd floor, 217 Hong Bang Street, Ward 11, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City
  • ?Type of job: Full time
  • ?Expected Starting Date: ASAP
  • ?Duration: 24 months after two-month probation  

Main Responsibility:

  • Conducts administrative and financial duties related to all aspects of project implementation
  • Assists team members by maintaining calendars, receiving and composing communications as correspondence, and replies to inquiries.
  • Maintains effective communication system and ensure information flow between project and relevant parties
  • Drafts contracts, budgets, and donor reports with direction from the Director
  • Processes financial documents including contracts, expense reports, invoices, etc.
  • Arranges all necessary logistics for the activities of MEF projects
  • Interprets, translates official documents/reports from English to Vietnamese or Vice Versa
  • Performs other related duties as required. 

Requirement:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (majors such as social work and public health are preferred).
  • Fully proficient computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, internet and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Candidates with experience working for NGOs or international organizations are preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and with minimal supervision
