We are looking for committed, result-driven candidate for the position of Programme Director (PD), Biodiverse Landscape Fund (BLF) programme, based in Ha Noi, Viet Nam or Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Major Functions:

The Programme Director (PD) for the Biodiverse Landscape Fund (BLF) programme provides overall vision and leadership for the anticipated Biodiverse Landscape Fund, Lower Mekong programme. The PD provides managerial and technical leadership and directs the project's core team of staff and partners responsible for planning, coordination, design, and delivery of all project activities. The PD reports and represents the project to senior leadership of WWF-UK and partners, leads the project steering committee, manages the consortium, and represents the project to government stakeholders and other partners in the implementation countries of Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam.

The position will apply participatory management approaches, show strong adaptive management skills and be able to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. A strong focus on efficient and effective implementation which delivers measurable impact in line with planned results is essential. The position will ensure compliance with DEFRA policies and regulations, supported by the WWF-UK office.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience implementing and managing complex, large-scale, multi-country projects which apply landscape level approaches to conservation, carbon management and sustainable livelihood development projects in Asia.
  • Master's degree (minimum) in natural resources management, wildlife, forestry, environmental or conservation management, bioregional planning, development studies, social sciences, or relevant field.
  • Experience in managing and implementing multi-million-dollar DEFRA and/or other government donor-funded natural resource management projects.
  • Experience in managing projects across national boundaries both from a technical and managerial perspective.
  • Experience in managing projects that enhance protected area management, support sustainable agricultural practices, poverty reduction and community inclusion and deliver nature-based livelihood solutions.
