Education for Nature-Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non-governmental organization focused on conservation of nature and the environment. Our mission is to foster greater understanding amongst the Vietnamese public about environmental issues of local, national and global significance, ranging from protection of wildlife and natural ecosystems to climate change. We employ creative and innovative strategies to influence attitudes and behavior, not only highlighting the need to protect Vietnam’s rich natural heritage and the living world around us, but also encouraging greater public participation in achieving this important and challenging task.

Education for Nature - Vietnam (ENV) is currently looking for candidates for the position of Program officer – Based in Hanoi.

Description of position

The Program officer is responsible for taking a leading role in development and execution of ENV’s Species Program tasked with reducing consumption and demand of endangered wildlife such as bear, tiger and rhino.

The Program officer reports directly to Wildlife Trade (WLT) program manager.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design of concepts and activities: Help design concepts and activities for endangered species campaign in line with campaign plan and schedule.
  • Implementation of the campaign activities: Execute campaign activities such as workshops, meetings, public events, media campaign and robust viral campaign targeting (potential) consumers and influencing decision makers.
  • Reporting: Produce internal reports based on the outcome of various ENV campaign activities
  • Communications: Coordinate campaign development and activities closely with all relevant departments within ENV
  • Others: Complete other duties and assignments as specified by ENV managers

Qualifications

  • University degree
  • Experience of working in NGO and projects is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skill
  • Excellent communications skills and networking
  • Strong verbal and written Vietnamese and English skills
  • Familiar with and keen on high-tech, modern applications and new technologies.
  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Internet
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to details
  • Able to design and develop new idea, concept
  • Creativeness and passion, high responsibility and high demanding
  • Love outdoor activities
  • Able to use designing tools and software is preferable
