ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

Founded in 2009, LIN Center for Community Development is a not-for-profit organization. We envision equal access to social and economic opportunities and an improved quality of life for all (irrespective of age, race, gender, ethnicity, origin, etc..). Through grants, technical support and networking, LIN helps local nonprofit organizations (NPOs) and philanthropists (skilled volunteers and donors) to strengthen and grow so they can fulfill their potential as vehicles for sustainable development, poverty alleviation and citizen participation.

As an intermediary, LIN provides access for everyone to information, knowledge, and tools related to community development work. We facilitate platforms, network, workshop, conference, training, and consultation that support the development of local grassroots NPOs at the same time enabling the philanthropists to give strategically. We also promote local-led development and collaboration amongst individual and institutional philanthropists and NPOs through a community fund that provides grants for initiatives addressing local and environmental issues.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

LIN Center for Community Development is seeking an ethical and responsible candidate for the position of Program Coordinator for Community Program . The person’s primary responsibility is to coordinate with different stakeholders such as experts, volunteers, nonprofits, and business partners to implement LIN programs and projects including, but not limited to, online and offline capacity strengthening programs, database system, and online platforms in order to provide knowledge and skills, and nurture the local nonprofits for the sustainable development of local communities in Vietnam.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The roles and responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include:

  • General Roles:
    • Conduct researches to upgrade training formats and platforms;
    • Prepare budgeting projections, activity plan and quarterly & annual reports of the responsible programs;
    • Recruit and work with experts to develop training structure, curriculum and materials;
    • Build and maintain a solid relationship with expert and skilled volunteers in diverse backgrounds from business to nonprofit sectors;
    • Promote the programs; and
    • Follow-up to measure and evaluate the impact of the program.
  • Specific responsibilities:
    Online capacity strengthening program:
    • Conduct researches to prioritize topics and upgrade the platforms;
    • Recruit trainers to develop training structure and curriculums.

    Offline capacity strengthening program:

    • Recruit Trainers and skilled volunteers;
    • Organize working group meetings with local nonprofits to develop the curriculum;
    • Organize workshops and document the training materials.

    Database system and online platforms:

    • Recruit and collaborate with skilled volunteers to upgrade and/or maintain the system and platform;
    • Develop and implement system orientation and training to all staff;
    • Maintain the effectiveness of the system and platforms.

In addition, the Program Coordinator will have administrative and other duties including:

  • Maintain clear records and submit reports on project works & impacts, and expenditures.
  • Support other tasks as required by the supervisor and other colleagues that serve the delivery of the organization’s strategies and development.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • University Degree, preferably in social sciences, training, sociology or community development.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two-year project management experience.

Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills (in English and Vietnamese).
  • Ability to work with different members from corporate to nonprofit sectors.
  • Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Web 2.0.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and determination to meet deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork, problem solving, and negotiation skills;
  • Basic knowledge of community development and understanding of social issues.
