RECRUITMENT FOR OPERATION DIVISION OFFICER

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has works in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 4 provinces: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa. GNI in Vietnam sponsors about 10,000 children and implements community development projects (CDP) in education, water & sanitation, income generation sectors in 7 different areas of Vietnam.

Location: Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Country Director, General Manager, Division Managers/ Officers, Project Managers/ Officers

External: GNI’s Partners, Governmental Officials, INGOs, Communities

2. MAIN DUTIES

1. Child Sponsorship

  • Making Annual Plan of Action (POA);
  • Implementing the activities in Child Management fields
  • In charge of the efficiency of the activities during implementation
  • Contact/Deal with related local partners to facilitate the implementation of activities;
  • Guide and ensure that partners, participants properly follow GNI regulations;
  • Regularly reporting on activities/events or when required to the PIC of activities and project manager;
  • Managing and promoting the process of disbursement as planned;

2. Child Protection

  • Implementing capacity-building programs for children
  • Implementing activities that require the participation of children
  • Enhancing volunteer network and child protection system in community
  • Implementing capacity-building of child's rights for partnership
  • Making child protection programs

3. Child education development

  • Make survey of current teaching and learning status and educational conditions in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in locality to determine the need of the schools and support facilities and capacity building;
  • Collaborate with schools, CDC to draw up proposal and implement suitable supports to meet the needs of above-mentioned schools;
  • Directly build up and implement activities for the Learner-centered Approach Program, Youth Development Clubs, Reading Enrichment Programs, Career Pathfinders, etc.

4. Community development:

  • Collaborate with CDC to establish Village Development Committee to implement development activities in village, hamlet, commune;
  • Provide consultancy and support CDC to build up development plan in village regarding culture, education, health, water – sanitation and environment;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement approved community development activities to meet the deadline and quality;
  • Give technical advices to schools, clubs, CDC on request to improve program’s efficiency; timely inform to address difficulties for stakeholders during implementing program;
  • Develop relationship between GNI and partners; promote participation of community’s members and local authorities relating to community development;
  • Organize efficient periodical appraisal of above-mentioned education and community development programs;
  • Implement activities upon request of line managers.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:

  • University degree in Social works, Education and other related fields

Work experience

  • At least 1-year relevant working experience;
  • Community development project working experience is preferable;

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and work with the team
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills
  • Good English language skills in writing & speaking
  • Good skill in computer use

Attitude

  • Sociable and responsive
  • Committed working with GNI at least 2 years
  • Truthful and accountable.
