The Digital Transformation Center Vietnam is part of a global initiative of the German government to enable local innovation worldwide.

The Digital Transformation Center Vietnam supports our Vietnamese partners in shaping Digital Transformation that is human-centered and sustainable.

Three focus areas are:

• Green Tech Entrepreneurship
• Industry 4.0 (digitalization of SMEs) and
• Big Data and AI

As the Digital Transformation Center is currently in the development stage, we are looking for a motivated team member to shape the Center’s objective from the start and be instrumental in the design of both its activities and the overall strategy of the project. Thus, we are looking for a qualified, local candidate to fill the following position:

Officer for Tech Entrepreneurship

Duty station: Hanoi

Duration: ASAP until  30. November 2023

Main responsibilities:

• Strategy development concerning the activities and strategic positioning of the Digital Transformation Center
• Concept development of potential portfolio building and partnership management with other ecosystem stakeholders ranging from ministries to donors, the private sector, NGOs and other international organizations/networks
• implementing daily operational aspects of all issues related to the Digital Transformation Center
• Policy advice and organizational development for the primary partners of the project in the field of digitalization
• Setting up and managing start-up support programs (incubators, accelerators, entrepreneur-in-residence programs)
• Establishing and promoting regional and German-Vietnamese tech entrepreneurship networks and exchanges.

Minimum requirements:

• Experience in political science, social science, business, ICT with a focus on digital transformation and innovation 
• Specialization in digital transformation and a minimum of 5 years work experience in the start-up world
• Knowledge on current local and regional developments in the fields of innovation, tech and digitalization
• Proven experience with start-up incubation and innovation management a must
• Experience in project management
• Good knowledge of the Vietnamese and regional Start-up ecosystem
• Managerial and organizational competence
• Willingness to travel (abroad and domestically) regularly
• Knowledge of Vietnamese and English, German is a plus
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
