National Consultant on Gender and Climate Change

UN WOMEN National consultant on gender and climate change

UN Women in Viet Nam has been working on gender mainstreaming in climate change and DRR in Viet Nam, working closely with Women's Union in strengthening women's role and capacity in climate change and disaster risk management. In order to build evidence on gender related issues in migration and climate change, UN Women will join with IOM Viet Nam to conduct an assessment of the nexus of gender, migration, environment and climate change and the institutional capacities and operational processes linking migration, displacement, climate change and environmental degradation with a focus on Dak Lak and Phu Yen.

The finding from this study will expand knowledge on the issue and enhance the protection of migrants and those vulnerable to forced migration caused by climate change or environmental degradation by actively engaging government agencies in the prevention and mitigation of risks of forced migration.

In this context, UN Women Viet Nam Country Office is seeking for one national gender researcher to join a team of three consultants (one international and two national) to conduct this assessment.

Closing time for applications is 5.00 PM (Hanoi time, GMT+7) on 30 June 2019.

Interested applicants are requested to submit the following documents:

  • Letter of interest
  • Updated CV/Resume
  • Technical and financial proposal
