PATH is currently recruiting for a local intern based at PATH office in Hanoi to design multimedia Information, Education and Communication messages, and e-learning modules to increase capacity and raise awareness of Japanese Encephalitis vaccination programs. The intern will work under the management of PATH’s Asia Regional Technical Advisor.

Project overview:

With funding from Margaret A. In Laos, PATH will help improve JE and other immunization coverages to protect children from JE and other vaccine preventable diseases. In the first phase of the project, PATH will pilot intervention packages in 3 selected provinces and then will expand the piloted intervention in phase 2 to other Lao provinces, and likely Cambodia.

Among other things, the project will emphasize strengthening capacity of service providers, program managers, and health workers in routine immunization delivery; and create demand for immunization within the local health community and parents of eligible children. Sample capacity building activities include training via e-learning modules, broadcasting information, education and communication (IEC) messages and immunization quizzes using popular web-based communication tools (e.g., WhatsApp).

The goal of this program is to promote education, address community concerns, raise awareness of and create demand for the JE and other vaccines under national immunization program.

Description of the project the Intern will complete:

  • The intern will work with the project’s software/program developer, technical advisor/officer to convert written technical content of immunization IEC messages, and training modules into multimedia format for web-based use.
