East Meets West in Vietnam

East Meets West (EMW) is an international NGO headquartered in the United States and has offices in Southeast Asia. For three decades, East Meets West’s programs have benefited underserved populations in Asia. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of underserved communities in Asia through evidence-based programs and technologies in the areas of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); and education.

Currently, EMW is partnering the Vietnamese government to implement the WASH Programs with support from Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Bill Gates Foundation. In order to support the implementation team to provide the effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems, EMW is looking for Vietnamese competent candidates to fill the following vacancy:

1. MONITOR AND EVALUATION ASSISTANT (BASED IN HA NOI)

Job summary:

The Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant will work closely with the implementation team to provide an effective and efficient monitoring, evaluation, documentation and reporting systems in support of all WASH projects, including Community Hygiene Output-based Aid 2 (CHOBA2), Private Sector Innovations (PSI) and Community Hygiene and Water – Women Led Output-based Aid (WOBA).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of the project’s implementation
    • Support team in improving existing monitoring system, including monitoring reporting structure and guidelines
    • Provide reports on indicators that are needed for management analysis;
    • Follow up, receive and clean up raw data for database.
    • Check verification reports in comparison with database and previous reports.
    • Consolidate data from all the forms to excel templates for Data Assistant import to Access Database.
    • Conduct monitoring trips to double check the project results in project areas.
  • Supporting project’s evaluation
    • Support implementation team to document lessons learned, and ensures they are stored in an easily accessible way in the information system.
    • Support and implement project implementation activities periodically

Work Conditions:

  • The primary work location will be in Ha Noi Office with regular travel to the field locations. Travel by motorbike or public transportation and overnight stays in the site will be required.

  • Willing to work overtime and weekends for special programs and events

Qualifications

  • University Degree in engineering, environmental sciences, community development or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Offices (especially Microsoft Access, Excel etc.), Email & Internet, and other related software
  • Excellent professional organizational skills
  • Good reading and speaking English skills
  • One year of relevant professional experience, preferably working with community development projects.
  • Good presentation and writing report skills
  • Able to work under high pressure and independently.

Salary and benefits will be determined based on experience and qualifications
