Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

Under the overall direction of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Head of Programme & Project Development and Implementation and Migration Health Project Development and Implementation Officer, the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Research, collect and analyse relevant information on identified issues within the field of migration and health
  • Support drafting of project documents
  • Interview migrants (including those with tuberculosis)
  • Assist in translation work from Vietnamese to English and vice versa
  • Support logistics and organization of events, meetings and workshop when needed
  • Undertake duty travel as required
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Vietnamese national
  • Bachelor degree with three years of experience, preferably with public health, medicine, nursing, social science, or Master degree with two years of experience in public health
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect diversity
  • Working experience or knowledge in migration issues for non?governmental organizations, international governmental organizations or government institutions is a strong asset
  • Proven written and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to produce quality work to set deadlines
  • Team-work oriented but with a capacity to work independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy

LANGUAGES

Fluency in English and Vietnamese is required. Other relevant languages are an advantage.
