Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non-governmental organization focused on the conservation of nature and the protection of the environment. ENV combats the illegal wildlife trade and aims to foster greater understanding amongst the Vietnamese public about the need to protect nature and wildlife. ENV employs creative and innovative strategies to influence public attitudes and reduce demand for wildlife trade products. ENV works closely with government partners to strengthen policy and legislation, and directly supports enforcement efforts in the protection of endangered species of regional, national, and global significance.

Position Available

ENV is looking for a Media Campaign Officer who is a charismatic professional, has working relationships with members of the press, and has the required skills to work closely with our national and international senior officers to strengthen our program. She/he promotes the strengthening and growth of ENV through enhancing the organization’s public image and profile and coordinating public awareness activities. 

Main Duty Station: Hanoi

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ENV media campaign and all media activities
    • Produce regular press releases and media statements
    • Organize press and TV interviews
    • Coordinate ENV’s specific campaigns with the media
    • Host press conferences
    • Coordinate the development, production, and implementation of the ENV media strategy
    • Develop annual work plan
  • Responsible for media partnerships
    • Develop and implement an effective ENV media partnership strategy
    • Maintain and develop key relationships with the media
    • Identify and follow up with key journalists for major wildlife events/cases
  • Manage products and partner contacts
    • Develop and manage the media contact database
    • Maintain an efficient filing system for media communication products
    • Ensure quality media related reports, updates, and other assigned tasks are submitted on time

Requirements

  • Experience developing, producing, and releasing press releases and media statements preferred
  • Extensive connections with press/media preferred
  • Vietnamese
  • College degree in media, press, and social sciences is an advantage
  • Excellent Vietnamese writing and editing skills required
  • Fluent verbal and written English
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate ability to innovate and find creative ways to distribute ENV’s campaign messages
  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Internet, viral communications, social media
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to details
